Hosting Thanksgiving - November Take 10 Kit 2015

After the DD set-up hype (I was way too excited to get that done first and ready to go!), I cracked open the Take 10 November Kit to share a little layout inspiration.
This year, we hosted my husband's side of the family for an early Thanksgiving! When I started looking at the cards I just knew what I wanted to do with them.  Holly | Take 10 Kits www.thestudio29designs.com
The cards are clean and crisp with sentiments that go well with a Thanksgiving layout!

That miniature photo on the top left card is a favorite thing of mine. I just love the Picstitch app. Do you use it? I mainly use it for putting two 3x4 pics on a 4x6 with a white border, but there are so many other combinations! This one was 4 pics on a horizontal (or landscape) 6x4. I highly recommend it! It has a free version or for a little extra you get some added features. I like being able to adjust the thickness of the white border so I upgraded.

That roller stamp in the kit is excellent! Ok, what do you do when you see a typo after you are done done done? I obviously left it. I'm human. Photo credit for the one of my niece with the fireworks goes to my sister-in-law! It captured that exciting event perfectly.

Daily Life Messes - Documented

I’ve been following along with a class all about documenting where you live. It’s been a lot of fun so far. (#LPPLoveWhereYouLive by Little Paper Projects. Tell them Holly Genc sent you for a chance to win a free class.) The first week was about those messes at home that tell stories of your daily life. I had a post last week on my blog showing some of my photos I captured and the stories about them.

I put it together this week in my mini-pocket page album. I haven’t decided if I’m using a binder or what (stay tuned…), but I’m using 6×8 pocket pages and inserts.

I am using the Woodland Take 10 Kits which include the beautiful Pink Paislee Cedar Lane collection. (and I have the whole collection that I won in a American Craft Giveaway. I'm so lucky. Incredible. Eeeeek.)

I’m also using some cards from Amy Tangerine’s Project Life mini kit called Plus One. It features some houses on some of the cards. Perfect!

This post is very photo heavy to show you lots of detail.

Finding Their Way Pocket Page

Today’s post is a layout of a day spent at our local arboretum. It is such a fun fall place to visit. The Children’s Garden is amazing.

I attached a 4×6 flip pocket to get a couple extra photos in!

Thanks!

Oregon Midori Traveler's Notebook (Part 2)

I'm back with more work on my Oregon Trip Midori. I decided this will be my main album for this trip. I might also do a page or two my 2015 Project Life book of the highlights.

On my first pages, I used a photo of the coast and the calendar page from the August Cocoa Daisy DaisyDori to show the dates we were there. I used some watercolors behind the photo and embellishments from my August Take 10 Kit.

The next page was a pre-stamped page I made for recording the summary of each day. I was not able to journal every night, so this was a big help.

I used some fun cards from the kit. My photos were collaged with the picstich app and cut apart.

When journaling, I left a few spots for photos here and there.

Basking in a Summer Layout as the Days Get Cooler...

I'm already missing the lazy days of summer, as we are swept up in the day-to-day of the school year. So I'm bringing you a summer pool day layout, using the gold pieces from my July Take 10 Kit and some of the Citrus Bliss papers.

Yep, I did it, I used all that gold in a one-pager. And I love it. I admit that I usually only add a splash of sparkle to any one layout, but I spilled the whole bottle on this one. My 6-year-old daughter is proud.

I like looking at this page and remembering those warm days. But, I also am looking forward to fall hitting my town with all the gorgeous changing colors, pumpkin spice latte and fires in the fireplace.
