A Day at the Beach - Project Life Style

Day at the Beach Project Life www.paintedladiesjournal.com

A day at the beach is always fun to document, right? Happy faces. Sand castles. Buried toes. It's the quintessence of summer!

I saw these two cards in the June Take 10 Kit, and new I wanted to record some beach memories. The waves! Perfection.

Ugh! This boy. This might be my favorite photo of him of the summer! Fresh haircut and pure joy on his little face. That was a lucky moment to catch on my camera.

Speaking of fresh haircuts, there was a cute conversation the day before that I wanted to record here, between my son and my husband.
Hubby: Want to go get your haircut? (enthusiastic smiles)
Son: No. (deadpan)
Hubby: You get a lollipop after it's done.
Son: (not missing a beat) When are we going?
I printed it on vellum to let the wave pattern show through. I did a post awhile back on my journal printing process. Go here to find it!

I love having a big blank sky to put a title on! Don't you? Those Simple Stories stickers are very sticky, so be sure you have it where you want it before applying! But, I love them! Find them in the June Take 10 Glam Bag.

I used a label sticker for the date and paired it with a word phrase sticker and enamel dot in the lower left corner of the page.

What are your favorite summer memories to document?

May Project Life Layout - Carefree

May 2016 Take 10 Kits www.paintedladiesjournal.com
I'm sharing a simple Project Life Layout today with the new May Take 10 Kits. I had several fun pictures of my youngest that morning in May.

I used my 2" Fiskars Punch on a close-up of my son with the giant dalmation lovie that he had to hold in the cart at Target. I really thought I was going to be walking out of the store with that huge puppy. I paired it with one of the exclusive wood veneers. I really like these veneers because they are very thin, so don't add a lot of bulk to your pages. Those word strips are by Tim Holtz.

I love that I captured this moment. I like using filler cards as backgrounds for journaling. I chose to use vellum here so the pattern could show through.

The washi is from Stampin' Up. I also used another Tim Holtz phrase sticker here. And the "Carefree" and "Yes" stamped images are from the exclusive set included in the May Pocket Kit

The alpha stickers in the kit were great right over this photo with the spots!!

Fresh Air and Snuggle Up: A few 6x12 Pocket Page Inserts

I used up the rest of my cards from the February Take 10 Kit by The Studio 29 Designs, LLC this month to create two 6x12 pocket page inserts. Both are very simple layouts, and I'm loving the crisp, clean look.

This was one of those first "warm" spring days last year. Everyone was happy to be outside playing.  You can still get the cards and stamp featured in this layout in the shop.

A simple way to switch things up with the same old pocket page is to put 2-3x4's in a 4x6 slot. That's all I did in this bottom pocket. I adhered that stamped "everyday life" with pop dots to add a little more interest.

Those white Studio Calico alphas are from my stash, as well as the coordinating Simple Stories gray label.

And here is my second 6x12 insert. I just adore this one!

I chose that colorful stripe card for a little journaling. (Hint: when you are unsure how the pen you are using will work on a slick card, try it out on the back first). I used a black Sharpie Pen here. Then, I centered a few of the word stickers and one washi strip from the Pink Paislee C'Est La Vie collection that was in the February glam bag.

That "snuggle up" thicker was from my stash. How perfect for my little snuggler. It's from Pink Paislee's Cedar Lane collection.

And for my bottom pocket, I cut that 6" strip from one of the kit cards to put on top of my photo. I paired it with some more of the washi and a word sticker.

Mommy + Me Time

Last year was the first time I had one in full-time Kindergarten and one in his first year of morning Preschool. That left my youngest (15 months old at the time) with some much needed mommy time all to himself.

The September Take 10 Kit is spectacular for this month. The colors! The designs!

I just love the look of this title card and it was perfect for my page theme. I added a heart from the glam bag with a pop dot to give some dimension and those glossy red enamel dots!

The cut-apart sheets are so genius! I love making little labels with them that coordinate.

Got your nose! The Washi "cards" in the kit are so convenient! They include little strips the same width as your journal cards. I put two together with a "pop-dotted" piece here.

On the filler card, I used one of the new stamp sets. The little banner (again, another pop dot!) was made with the stamp, colored in with marker and fussy cut (didn't take long).

I loved this little saying in the cut-apart sheet - Believe in Your #Selfie. I get an A+ for selfies in this layout! I don't think I've ever put myself in a single layout more than I did in this one.
