August Blog Hop

Welcome to the Team Stamp It Fall Blog Hop.  I don't know about you but its been super hot here, so may be a little early for Fall weather.  However its never too early to craft cards with this beautiful new Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and the Autumn Greetings stamp set.

I love the shutter card fold, but in this case I made it a bit extra fancy! I embossed the right side with the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder.  These new slimmer folders will work great in the new portable Stamp & Emboss machines (coming soon!!) I cut the labels from Very Vanilla and Mint Macaron. Just cut the bottom layer in half and you have a ready made layering piece!

I love to create cards the fold into each other - interlocking.  This way simple, just put Stampin' Dimensionals only on the far right had side of the label - that allows the fall bouquet to interlock underneath!

Here's a better view of the embossing from the inside.

This edge banding is also included in the dies and really finishes the inside off nicely!

One last trick - see those matching sequins? They are from the Whale of a Time sequins! They look great here don't they?

I am so glad you could join me today on our hop.  There are lots of great stampin' inspiration still to come as we have a big group of stampers sharing today.  Hop along and comment on my blog and everyone else's with #stampitcontest for a chance to win prizes!

Congrats to last month's winner Donna Billingsley

Ready for Fall Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp It Team Fall Blog Hop! I hope you have been enjoying the hop so far and welcome from Christina Miller's blog - she always has such great ideas and instructions! Make sure you read all the way to the end to see some news I have to share as well!

I don't know about you - but it seems like as soon as the kids are back at school there are always a ton of birthday parties and I was always running to get a present and a card! The cards I made today can solve all of those last minute problems! This design is so versatile you can use any of our beautiful Designer Series paper with this same design - and its very easy to create many of the same card to have a nice stash!

I loved the Dinoroar DSP as soon as I first saw the holiday catalog! While I bought the paper, I have not yet bought the stamps & dies so I had to think a bit outside the box! My first love is always the paper so I often make that the focus of my design….

Here I used Mango Melody card bases cut at 4 ¼” v 11”, scored at 5 ½”. I then cut 1 ½” from the front side of the card, set that aside. The DSP is cut at 3 ¾” x 4”, and I cut a card insert in Whisper White at 4” x 5 ¼”. I cut a scrap of Whisper White at 1 ¼” x 4 ¼” that I mounted on the piece of Mango Melody that was cut from the card front.

Since as I said I did not but the adorable stamps yet – I had to think creatively about the sentiments. Using Pretty Peacock (my new favorite In-Color) I stamped the flower cluster from the Royal Peacock stamp set and Wildly Happy sentiment from the Wildly Happy stamp set. I cut the word Birthday from the Word Wishes dies set (such a versatile die set!) in Pool Party.  Because the paper had so much going on (in a good way) – I mounted the word on a piece of Pretty Peacock cut with the Classic Label punch. It also made it that much easier to add mini dimensionals to pop the word up for even more pop!

Make sure to leave a comment on my blog to have a chance to win. And look through all the blogs and comment on each one  with #stampitcontest for a chance to win this great prize

Congratulations to last month's winner: Geann Kollar
